I have seen many people struggle with extreme hair fall and feel unhappy about it.
There are many reasons for this problem. We at SENS age management clinic always believe that no health issue is independent and an integral approach addresses multiple if not all issues related to metabolism!
Following could be the underlying causes for extreme hair loss;
Environmental toxins: such as heavy metals, lead mercury, arsenic, cadmium, nickel and aluminum these heavy metals affect the mitochondria of cells of almost all organs of the body and are key producers of most of our hormones heavy metal toxicity often leads to serious hormone imbalances and therefore hair problems of all kinds, dry luster less hair, extreme hair fall etc.
Nutrient deficiencies: commonly required nutrients are deficient in our diet in today’s time, the reasons are, extreme dependence on quick fix meals which have empty calories coming from nutritionally poor sources such as Trans fats, chemicals preservatives etc. deficient soil which is low in required nutrients, food products stored in deep freezers for long time before they reach consumers etc…
Oxidative stress: it is caused by an imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species and a biological system’s ability to readily detoxify the reactive intermediates or easily repair the resulting damage. Antioxidants help detoxify and clean the environment.
Autoimmune diseases: arising out of leaky gut is a disorder associated with increased intestinal permeability subsequent to the loss of intestinal mucosal integrity. This degradation is mostly due to toxins which damage the tight junctions between intestinal epithelial cells leading to leaky gut. Researchers have found that certain proteins in grains (gluten in wheat, rye, barley etc…) casein in dairy and other proteins in some legumes damage the lining of our gut, which enables the entire contents of intestine to make its way into the body and incite and autoimmune reaction which get manifested as various different symptoms.
How to prevent and control hair fall:
Eat a nourishing and well-balanced diet that includes plenty of good –quality lean protein, such as that found in fish, grains, and legumes. If your cholesterol level is not too high, include moderate amounts of cheese and eggs in your diet. Also eat lots of mineral – rich foods like vegetables, grains and legumes, plus some nuts and seeds and sea vegetables. This type of diet will supply ample protein and minerals and best support hair growth. Deficiencies of protein and minerals may be factors in hair loss.
Regular System detox: Go on a detox diet regularly, avoid food with preservatives, eat fresh raw fruits and veggies, plenty (organic), avoid all kinds of fast food products with chemicals.
Take good care of your hair, keep it clean but avoid excessive washing and harsh chemicals, avoid creams and lotions with high content of harsh & harmful chemicals, use mild cleanser without too many chemicals.
Nutritional Supplements: Proteins, minerals complex, Biotin, amino acids, vitamin E, B complex supplements, Vitamin C Supplements.
It is always recommended to avoid masking symptoms and address the root cause of the ailment.
